CCE Jefferson / Lewis Pasture Walk series continues in 2013

1st Meeting: Wednesday, June 26

Introduction to Silvopasture

Guest speaker: Joseph Orefice, Owner/operator,

North Branch Farm, Saranac, NY

 Assistant Professor, Paul Smith’s College,

NRESS Student, University of New Hampshire

 

10:00am – 12:00pm Mazy Acres / Jim Young. Miller Road, Antwerp

            Organic Dairy; new bedded pack barn with flat parlor.

12:00pm – 1:00pm Lunch on your own. We’ll bring the water and snacks

1:00pm – 3:00PM Beartown Farms / Gene LaMothe,

 65 acres of woodland un-pastured for 50 years; Former dairy farm.  Plus woodland  that was planted to corn 20 years ago.

Cost: $10 per farm or family.
