This year’s theme is “Do It Yourself Woodlots” with
talks related to achieving greater enjoyment, value and productivity from private woodlands through personal efforts – done safely and efficiently!
Tim Levatich will talk about their family’s working forest, the “Hobnob” and the years of enjoyment and benefits that it has provided them. State
Extension Forester Peter Smallidge will present practical tips for working safely and efficiently in the woodlot. Dave Scott of Woodmizer will talk
about how woodland owners can add value to their timber through custom portable milling. Brett Chedzoy will discuss woodlot management considerations and utilizing lower-value timber. This event is free and open to the public.
A raffle to win a chainsaw and other prizes supports 4-H forestry educations programs. Sponsored the the SFL Chapter of NYFOA.
