The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation has issued a revised NYS Open
Space Conservation Plan 2104. Public comments via email will be accepted until 12/17/14 4:45 pm. 
Please go to http://www.dec.ny.gov/lands/317.html for an introduction to the 2104 Plan and further links to the Plan itself, the 2009 Plan, and other
documents. Please note the wide scope of this plan and also the emphasis on the plans to combat climate change. The Plan covers urban, rural and wilderness
open space and includes protection of farmland land and flora and fauna. Of particular concern is sufficient funding to accomplish priorities of the Plan.
Public hearings held by DEC & OPRHP are scheduled around NYS on 10/21, 10/22 and 10/23. Go to the link above to find our about the time and location
