You and Your Forest – Free Informational Letter Series
Do you want to learn how to become a good forest steward? Of course you do! Besides the wood they provide for building and heating, and the wonderful plants and animals they support, forests are the most powerful and efficient carbon-capture system on the planet
You and Your Forest informational letter series can help you learn about forests, without leaving the comfort of your home. If you sign up, you will receive seven, 8 page letters, every two weeks filled with information to help you learn about forests. Each letter builds upon the content of the previous ones. Topics include: Becoming Aware of Your Forest’s Ecology, Protecting Your Forest Assets, Agroforestry & Forest Enhancement, Enhancing Forests for Wildlife, Forest Management, Crop Tree Management and Invasive Species Impact on Forests.
All forest landowners, or anyone interested in forests, are invited to participate in this free letter series by calling Cornell Cooperative Extension 518-622-9820 ext. 0 or emailing es693@cornell.edu. So, if you have one acre or 500, or just want to learn more about good forest stewardship, this series is for you. Starting in mid-February through May, you will receive a letter every 2 weeks, electronically or hard copy.
The Forest Stewardship Self-Study letter Series is a collaboration among Cornell Cooperative Extension of Columbia and Greene Counties, New York City Department of Environmental Protection, U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service and the Watershed Agricultural Council’s Forestry Program.
