I would like to get a good book on trees and their diseases.  Can you recommend one?

I'll take the cue from you: a "good" book. My favorite is "Diseases of Trees and Shrubs" by Wayne Sinclair and Howard Lyon. The second edition was published in 2005 by Cornell University Press. This is a comprehensive treatment of diseases of woody plants. Not exactly an easy read but nothing is left out and given a bit of time you will appreciate this thorough treatment.

This book sounds like a good place to start.

Thanks Mark.

Diseases of Trees and Shrubs is an excellent resource. Another useful book is: Wood Decay Fungi: Common to Urban Living Trees in the Northeast and Central United States by Christopher J. Luley.

Are there online resources for diseases of forest trees in the northeast?

Thanks Lewis.
