Hemlock
Is there a reason the State of New York stopped selling hemlock seedlings? I'd made up my mind that I'd like to plant a hundred, maybe more, for my grandsons to enjoy, but find no source.

I can't answer as to the why of the state no longer selling them other than to guess perhaps wanting to avoid possible Hemlock woolly adelgid importation. However, I believe there are private sources such as Musser who would have them..

Chaz,
I have lots of hemlock seedlings in my woods which you are welcome to pick and replant. A bit of work but only cost a cup of coffee for as many as you want.
