DESCRIPTION:Saturday, October 1st from 9:00 a.m. to Noon at Stanton Hi
 ll Studios (https://www.stantonhillstudios.com) 2320 and 2342 Stanton 
 Hill Road; Nichols, NY. Experts will demonstrate and share advice for 
 the process of selecting and harvesting trees, and sawing and caring f
 or “do it yourself” project-ready lumber. The morning will include
  numerous demonstrations and discussion around tree evaluation and sel
 ection, small-scale logging, portable lumber milling, post-milling dry
 ing and care of lumber, and considerations for lumber utilization.  T
 he workshop will take place rain or shine.  Please park in yard areas
  near houses and not on the adjacent town road. This event is sponsore
 d by the Southern Finger Lakes Chapter of the New York Forest Owners A
 ssociation (www.nyfoa.org) with support from Cornell Cooperative Exten
 sion, and all are welcome to attend. There will be a $10 fee payable a
 t the door to cover workshop expenses. Sessions will take place outdoo
 rs, so please dress for the weather! Hearing protection is recommended
