DESCRIPTION:NED-2 is part of a family of software products intended to
  help landowners, foresters, and other resource managers develop goals
 , assess current and future conditions, and produce sustainable manage
 ment plans for forest properties. During this hands-on workshop, parti
 cipants will learn how to use this free software developed by the Fore
 st Service to support decision-making. Designed for stand-alone Window
 s-based personal computers, NED-2 integrates a variety of forest manag
 ement tools into a single environment. These tools include databases, 
 growth and yield models, wildlife models, geographic information syste
 ms (GIS), visualization tools, and others.\nThe workshop will be taugh
 t by Mark Twery, Research Forester for the US Forest Service, and crea
 tor of NED-2. NED-2 is designed to be used by the average computer use
