 ucing maple syrup. Maple syrup production has a long history in Centra
 l New York and can be a great way to earn an income from your woodlot.
  Workshop topics will include: why make maple syrup, tree identificati
 on, collecting sap with buckets or tubing, boiling the sap, energy con
 siderations, when is it syrup, filtering and canning syrup, why does s
 ap run and what can you do about it and vacuum and reverse osmosis for
  the back yarder.\nHosted by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chenango
  County and held on January 24 at the Sherburne Fire Hall, 15 West Sta
 te Street, Sherburne. The meal starts at 5:30 pm and the program is 6:
 00 to 8:30 pm. The cost for the program and the pancake dinner is $15 
 for the first person and $7 for each additional family member.  Pleas
