SUMMARY:Love Your Land? Make a Plan!
DESCRIPTION:Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County will pres
 ent a workshop designed to get families talking and planning about the
  future – sometimes a difficult conversation. While the focus of thi
 s workshop will be on woodlands, the tools presented on are also appli
 cable to farmland succession planning.  All landowners are encouraged
  to attend. \nCornell Cooperative Extension Onondaga County in collab
 oration with Cornell University Department of Natural Resources and Fi
 nger Lakes Land Trust will host this workshop on November 14, 2014 wit
 h registration at 9:30 and the program from 10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. a
 t the First Presbyterian Church, 97 E. Genesee Street, Skaneateles. \
 nThis interactive presentation will be facilitated by Dr. Shorna Brous
 sard Allred, Cornell University Cooperative Extension, who will provid
 e effective tools that families can use to decide the future of their 
 land.  This workshop will share good ideas on how to get the discussi
 on started and provide a host of excellent resources to help make the 
 process of ownership transfer focused and smooth.\nElizabeth Newbold f
 rom the Finger Lakes Land Trust will discuss what a land trust does an
 d land conservation options available to landowners. The Finger Lakes 
 Land Trust is a member supported non-profit conservation organization 
 that works cooperatively with landowners and local communities to perm
 anently protect those lands that are vital to the character of the Fin

 .fllt.org.\nJohn Moss Hinchcliff is a partner in Miller Mayer’s Trus
 ts and Estates practice group in Ithaca. He will discuss estate planni
 ng, tax implications and other financial and legal approaches to a suc
 cessful long-term legacy plan. Mr. Hinchcliff and his family have pers
 onal experience with legacy planning and land conservation decisions o
 n their own property in the Finger Lakes Region.\nCost is $25.00 per f
