DESCRIPTION:Currently, our understanding of how climate and fire have 
 impacted quaking aspen (Populus tremuloides Michx.) communities prior 
 to the 20th century is fairly limited. However, by using a paleoecolog
 ical approach using pollen and charcoal preserved in lake sediments, t
 his study was able to investigate how changes in both climate and fire
  regimes influenced a quaking aspen stand from the Medicine Bow Range
