SUMMARY:Caring for Your Woods and Wildlife
DESCRIPTION:Forests in the Hudson Valley maintain clean water and air,
support wildlife populations, provide recreational and agricultural o
pportunities, and are a financial investment for many landowners. Unfo
rtunately, forests face a number of threats: invasive species, deer br
owse, and climate change, for example, and nearly one-third of NY’s
forests may not have sufficient regeneration to replace the forest in
the future. Whether you own land for recreation or a place to “get a
way from it all,” to produce timber, or because you enjoy wildlife,
this workshop will provide you with the information and tools you need
to understand and deal with some of the issues facing woodland owners
today, and learn to plan for an uncertain future.\n\nFor more informa
