Winter continues in full force and the need for firewood is relentless. Our partners at the Rotary of Walworth-Ontario continue to raise funds for Camp Onseyawa (https://www.onseyawa.org/) through the sale of C4C firewood. Camp Onseyawa is a special place for children with special needs and our region's Rotarians make it all happen.
While I was sitting by the fire on January 26 and 27, the C4C team worked hard on the fine, seasoned ash provided by our partners at Wagner Hardwoods. Wagner has been there every step of the way with excellent and clean material.
Over those two days, the C4C'ers took action and generated 14 face cord for The Rotary. Pizza and donuts were served (separately!). Here are some pics of the Walworth-Ontario Rotarians (with David on the left) on February 10, at David and Celia's:
Please forgive me for not knowing everyone's name or the names of the persons that donated their trucks and trailers. Camp Onseyawa really benefits from the hard work of the Walworth-Ontario Rotary and the Canandaigua Rotary. Jonathan Wordingham and Greg Gullo are great leaders and NYFOA is grateful to have them as partners.
The next time we'll get together is in April I think. So if you're a NYFOA member and want to have some fun while doing good, please send Eileen a note at email@example.com. She will place you on the mailing list so that you will be aware of the next event. If you'd rather just attend the post-firewood social, you're more than welcome! It really is a fine time for all.
If you would like to donate working equipment (e.g. hydraulic log splitter, maul, chainsaw, etc) or cash to help defray some expenses, please send me a note (firstname.lastname@example.org). NYFOA and the charities would be grateful. See you next time!
