I am harvesting downed and partially downed trees on my property to chain saw mill into boards for hobby use.
I have had many hours using a chain saw over several years and feel comfortable with it. However, I am self taught through reading and youtube.
Does anyone know of a hands on class with field instruction as to best chain saw technique etc. I am ok with straight up trees but those leaners and hung up trees (which is a lot of my salvage interest) always make me nervous.
I live in Geneva, NY, Finger Lakes.
Thanks all.
Tim

Good luck,

The best way for you get in a class would be to contact NYCAMH. They are hosting GOL classes throughout NYS. Contact erika.scott@bassett.org to find out when and where they will be offered this year.
